As always a really entertaining bit of writing. Sorry you didn’t win the award - I would have loved to have seen you being presented on stage by Anton in your wonderful pink trouser suit!
Those roast potatoes look truly excellent! My Dragons Den dream has always been to have roast potato takeaways and/or heated vending machines selling perfect roast potatoes on every street in the land.
I do love your columns. It’s like being downloaded on the week by a friend in a pub in London!!! (I’m on the beach near Sydney…which is great; but things like the Flower Show and summer in London do leave me wistful). Thank you, great writing!!!
I loved reading about Chelsea, Sophia, it sounded lovely and you and your mum look happy and smiley; I love your dresses. It sounds like you had a very near miss with those trews.
Well done Cousin George! It seems to have struck a chord; House and Garden singled it out as have other gardening peeps I follow 🌸. It looks so calm and like a sanctuary.
Ah, so, Mum's is from Boden, and mine is from Farm Rio which is my new favourite place if (sadly) reeeeeally expensive. So I bought this one and have faithfully promised myself I'm going to wear it basically every day this summer. And thank you!
I mean, the trousers thing _does_ seem like it has a lot of meet-cute potential.
V good shout
Great piece (and my husband was at school with your cousin ). Also enjoyed the polo piece in today’s Times & obvs then straight to the comments, lol!
Thank you v much! And ha I tend to avoid them…!

Send the rain North to the sunny highlands!!
I love the super silliness. Zippers stuck what a metaphor for World catastrophe
Love your Chelsea summer dresses :) xx

Love your report from Chelsea, so lovely that you could go with your Mum.
Zara are a nightmare for sizing, even my exceptionally tiny and skinny daughters are distraught by the differences!
AGREE. I think I had a S, M and L pair in the changing room last week and they all fit completely differently. Sigh. And thank you!

Well Tim, this is just lovely. Thank you! And the beach in Sydney sounds pretty great since it's (naturally) now pouring with rain in London....

It really was! And it turns out today that cousin George has won a gold medal with his, which is even better news. Trews off to the dry cleaner...

I love the dresses too - where are they from?

Thank you. Now just need to keep myself off the Farm Rio website...
